Lavinaventura, unfiltered wine
A New Visionary Redefines Natural Winemaking in Penedès
Emiliano Gómez left the world of communication to steward ancient vines in Torrelles de Foix. Produced without additives or sulfites, his wines express the terroir with honest radicalism and an absolute reverence for natural cycles.
From Buenos Aires to the Vineyards of Penedès
Barcelona/Editorial, December 29, 2026
Emiliano Gómez Ventura—known to everyone simply as Emi—was born in Buenos Aires, though Barcelona has been his home since childhood. His professional path was carved in design and advertising until 2018, when he chose a radical change of scenery. Without a farming lineage or formal agricultural schooling, he began a project restoring old vines in Alella alongside his mentor, Oriol Artigas. Two years later, he founded Lavinaventura Vins in Torrelles de Foix, in the heart of the Penedès, driven by a singular conviction: wine is made in the vineyard, not the cellar. The plots he tends range from 18 to 40 years old, planted with Parellada, Muscat of Alexandria, and Chenin Blanc on clay-limestone soils at over 400 meters of elevation. Enveloped by Mediterranean forest, these vines thrive under organic and biodynamic principles, certified since 2021.
Minimal Intervention, Maximum Expression
Emi champions a winemaking philosophy that is radical in its simplicity. He works exclusively with indigenous yeasts, eschews all additives, and adds no sulfites. The results are “living” wines that faithfully mirror each vintage, free from makeup or oenological correction.
In the field, soil health is the ultimate priority: he practices no-till farming, encourages spontaneous cover crops, and minimizes the use of sulfur and copper. This steadfast philosophy earned him a place in the Gremio de Vinyataires Lliures (Guild of Free Winegrowers), an association defending producers who work outside traditional Denominaciones de Origen to represent their territory with true authenticity. Since the inaugural commercial vintage in 2021, the project has evolved with a clear mission: to restore biodiversity and re-establish the equilibrium between the vine and its environment.
Wine for Connection, Not Speculation
Operating from Mas Aixola in Torrelles de Foix, Lavinaventura Vins does not chase official seals or accolades beyond the essential. Emi views wine as a medium for enjoyment and shared moments, rather than an inaccessible luxury product. Each bottle reflects the physical sacrifice of vineyard labor, the patient observation of natural rhythms, and a deep respect for a landscape that demands preservation. There are no oenological tricks—only grapes, time, and trust in the process. His wines speak of the earth, the Mediterranean scrub, slow ripening, and unwavering coherence. It is the signature of a man who left communication to listen to the vines, and who now communicates through them.
